Who can use this service? Adult education
courses are open to anyone over 16 years of age, who is
eligible.
They are particularly aimed at Newham residents, but are open to
people from other areas.
The eligibility criteria for LSC funded courses are that the
learner is:
- a British or EU citizen
- a refugee
- an asylum seeker
Cost
The tuition fee for all other NewCEYS' courses is currently
£1.50 per hour. There is an additional fee for entering an
examination or for materials.
Free tuition is available for a learner who
is:
1. In receipt of one of the following
benefits:
- Job Seekers Allowance
- Council Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Disability Allowance
- Income Support
- or if you are an unwaged
dependant of anyone in receipt of one of the above
benefits
2. Over 60 years of age 3.
Under 19 on August 1st 2007.
4. A registered asylum seeker or has refugee status
5. Basic Skills Student
However there will be a registration fee of £5 for those on
concessions.
