Nuisance Vehicles

Disposal of Unwanted Vehicles Scheme

Our free service to remove unwanted vehicles is part of the Association of London Government's 'Operation Scrap It' scheme.
To access this service contact the council on 020 8430 2000

To surrender your vehicle you will need the following:

  • The V5 (Vehicle Log Book)
  • The vehicle MUST be registered in your name. You cannot surrender somebody else`s vehicle
  • A telephone number where you can be contacted

Once the initial details have been entered onto our system, you will receive a return telephone call from Street Scene Enforcement staff. It is crucial that we verify your details again after we have checked with the DVLA in Swansea to determine the vehicle's actual registered owner. The collection procedure (removal of personal articles, making sure the vehicle is accessible, explanation on notifying the DVLA, etc.) will then be explained to you. When the details have been verified, instructions will be given to contractors to collect the vehicle.

This service is free to Newham residents.
