Resident visitor parking permits cost £3 for a set of ten
and are issued as a book of ten individual cards or as a booklet of
two reusable cards (with five entries each). A household is limited
to purchasing a maximum of seven sets of resident visitor parking
permits per month (the equivalent of £21). No refunds will be given
for unused, part-used or spoilt permits.
The permit allows the holder to park their vehicle in a
permit holders only bay within the
controlled parking zone shown on the card/booklet for up to six
hours. They can also park for six hours within
a 'shared use' bay - that is, a bay where
permit holders and motorists displaying a valid pay and display
ticket, can park.
To purchase resident visitor parking permits you must present
one document from the following list to prove your address
is within a controlled parking zone (you must supply original
documentation, photocopies are not acceptable):

Bank/building society/credit card statement dated
within three months

Utility bill dated within three months

Current council rent book

Welfare benefits letter dated within three
months

Department for Work and Pensions letter dated
within three months
Please note that mobile phone bills,
vehicle/insurance documents, TV licenses and medical cards are not
accepted

your fee and a brief letter/note stating that you would like to
purchase visitor permits to:

The council recommends that you use recorded delivery, as you are
required to send original documentation. Original documents
supplied by post will be returned to you via recorded delivery.
Postal applications must be paid for by cheque or postal order made
payable to 'London Borough of Newham'.
