Parks In Newham

Green Flag Parks

Did you know… Newham's parks are among the best in the country and hold several prestigious Green Flag Awards?
Central Park, Stratford Park and Forest Lane Park were all awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award in 2006.

The Green Flag Award is managed by the Civic Trust on behalf of the Office the Deputy Prime Minster. It is awarded to parks that have achieved highest of standards in park management and maintenance throughout the country.

You can find more information on the Green Flag Award website.

Parks have lots of benefits for everyone. They provide children with space to run free and meet other children. They are places for communities to get together and socialise. They are also places for our young people to meet up and hang out. For these reasons... and many more... we strive to keep our parks and open spaces safe and clean.

Parks should be attractive and welcoming places. Dedicated staff look after all your parks, working on everything from grass cutting to maintaining flowerbeds, removing litter to planting bulbs, pruning shrubs to planting trees.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved too! Just get in touch. Staff are all there to give a helping hand and to make sure our parks are clean and tidy.

To report a problem with maintenance, please phone 020 8430 2000.
