Planning Applications

Planning Enforcement

Effective enforcement is necessary to protect the integrity of the planning system and for the proper planning of the borough.
Planning seeks to strike a balance between the rights of landowners to the enjoyment of their land, whilst at the same time protecting the amenities of their neighbours. Other integral issues include protection of trees and the protection of historic buildings and areas.

If you are concerned about a possible breach of planning control then please report it; complete our online form or telephone us on 020 8430 2676.

We will investigate the matter and respond to you accordingly.

The Planning Enforcement Charter outlines the approach we take when dealing with the report of a possible breach.

You can search for Enforcement or Planning cases using Public Access on the Planning page.

If you have a complaint about the way Newham has dealt with the issues you have raised, please see the complaints procedure for more detail.
