Crossrail

Crossrail is a project to promote and develop a new railway route through London. It aims to boost London's integrated transport network and reduce overcrowding on other lines.
The council is petitioning the Crossrail Bill to ensure a high standard of environmental protection for Newham.

The Crossrail Bill and the Environment statement were published in 2005 and is being considered by Parliament. Public Protection is involved in petitioning the bill to ensure that a high standard of environmental protection will be included in the construction and operation.
