FAQs

Frequently asked questions for Pupil Support Services
Which is my local school?
Any Local Service Centre, school or Pupil Services can provide you with this information
What do I do to get my children a school place?
Ring the contact centre on 020 8430 2000 and we will send you the necessary forms. You need one for each child and there are different ones for primary, secondary aged children and children in their last two years of secondary school (years 10 and 11). So it is important that you have children's correct date of birth when you ring. Local Service Centres can also help.
Where can I get information about the schools in Newham?
We produce and information for parents booklet, one for primary, one for secondary. Ring the contact centre on 020 8430 2000 and they will send you one.
I am on a low income - why can't my child get a free bus pass?
All school aged children under 16 in London can get a free bus pass under the Mayor London's bus pass scheme. For older children or those that need to use a train to get to school, whether or not a free pass is issued does not depend on income - it depends on how far the school is from your home.
