Recycling

Recycling

We know that your environment is what matters most to you and that is why we have launched a major environmental campaign.

We want to get everyone who lives, works and visits the borough involved in doing their bit to recycle and dispose of their waste correctly.

However we can not do it alone and to really make a difference we need your help.

We hope you will join us in our campaign and play your part.
Everyone who lives and works here has a responsibility to improve the borough.

You can help us by:

  • recycling more of your paper, plastic bottles and food and drink cans through the orange bag recycling scheme

  • taking your unwanted household items such as televisions and sofas to Jenkins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre or by booking a bulky waste collection

  • recycling your green garden waste through the green garden waste collection service

  • taking glass, cardboard and textiles to one of the boroughs many recycling bring sites

  • putting your litter in the bin;

  • putting your household rubbish in your wheelie bin and outside your property on the evening before or the morning of your collection.

  • calling Newham Council on 020 8430 2000 if you see a missed rubbish collection or need more information on waste and recycling services

For more information see our leaflet How to reduce, reuse and recycle in Newham.
