Recycling

There are more than 150 recycling banks in Newham, where you can recycle glass jars and bottles, metal drinks and food cans, and plastic drinks and detergent containers (but not yoghurt and margarine tubs or clingfilm). Newspapers, magazines, catalogues, directories (except Yellow Pages) and junk mail can also be recycled there. You can recycle many items from home through our Orange Bag scheme.

    Green Waste & Composting

We offer a free service that allows Newham residents to recycle all organic waste from their gardens, including flowers, leaves and bark, small branches, twigs, straw, weeds and wood shavings - in fact, any "green" waste that can be composted. This is part of our efforts to help reduce levels of household refuse in the borough.
