Housing Allocation Scrutiny Commission

The Commission is looking at the Council's policy for allocation of housing.
The Commission's approach will be in three parts:
  • A review of the housing policy to see whether it is fair (both in how it is applied and whether there are any loopholes)
  • To identify any perceptions of queue jumping (people getting unfair priority over others) and to examine whether these are justified.
  • To establish whether the housing policy supports the council's priority of getting local people into local jobs

We are taking evidence from local people and representatives as well as examing best practive in housing allocation.
