Commission
The Health Scrutiny Commission scrutinises
local health services under the powers of the Health and Social
Care Act 2001.
|
As part of the Health Scrutiny Commission's work in
holding the local NHS to account, the Commission undertakes the
following:
- Regular scrutiny of a selection of performance
indicators relating to access to local health services
- Responding to consultations on substantial
developments and variations to NHS Services, for example with the
Primary Care Trust (PCT) on their Local Delivery Plan Discussion
Document and their methodology relating to the Patient Choice
Agenda
- In addition the Committee continues to network with
patient organisations and strengthen relationships with local
providers
A key focus during 2008/09 is the local response to the
Healthcare for London review undertaken by Lord Darzi. In addition
the Commission is examining maternity services and the local sexual
health strategy.
