Sports activities for young people

Whether you're eager to try a new sport or simply want to improve your fitness, Newham has much to offer.
With nationwide concern about obesity in young people, our aim is to encourage higher than average sports and physical activity participation in the borough.

To find out what sports activities are happening in your area, please contact Newham Sports Development on 0208 430 2484 or email sportsdevelopment@newham.gov.uk . You can participate in some of the activities free of charge.

Estate Based Sports Programme

We provide a variety of free sports activities for Newham's young people, all sessions are delivered by professional coaches and open to people of all abilities. For more information see our Estate Based Sports Programme page.

Leisure Centres & Watersports

Each of our four leisure centres has many different activities available to young people. We also have a watersports centre at the Royal Victoria Docks. To find out more about your local leisure centres, including location, a list of activities, and a timetable of events, please see our leisure centres pages.

Disability Sport
