Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) has been proposed for Stratford Park in
West Ham Lane. Find out how to have your say on the proposal, plus

given for the best entry!

Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) are a cost effective way of
providing for a range of sporting and recreational activities on
one site.
Funded in part by Sport England and
Neighbourhood Renewal Funding (NRF) the innovative
project would be located within the Olympic Action Zone (OAZ),
which borders the 2012 Olympic Park in Stratford.
The structure is proposed to include a two-lane perimeter running
track, one-on-one basketball zones and social areas.
The main arena, covered by a light weight textile roofing skin,
will keep users dry in bad weather conditions. Flooring will be
marked out to enable a variety of sports to be played, including
short tennis, volleyball, tape ball cricket, handball, Futsal
(indoor football) and basketball.
The unique roof covering will also allow the council to use the
structure for non-sporting activities.
Consultation on the project is taking place throughout Newham. For
more information and to have your say on the proposal, please email

Tell us what you think about the proposal and what you think the
new facility should be called - a prize will be given for the best
