Suspension Bus Lane Romford Rd

PUBLIC NOTICE There will be a temporary suspension of bus lane restrictions in Romford Road from the junction with Tavistock Road to the junction with Vicarage Lane, E15 (westbound), from 00.01 hrs Monday 27th October to 23.59hrs Friday 31st October 2008 inclusive, or until the works are completed.

 

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

 

The London Borough of Newham (Romford Road E15 (Bus Lane) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2008

 

 

 

Coming into Force: 27th October 2008.

 

 

WHEREAS the Council of the London Borough of Newham ("the Council"), being the traffic authority for the road(s) mentioned in item 2 below in the said London Borough is satisfied that traffic on lengths of the said road should be prohibited or restricted to allow works on or near the road.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a) ("The Act") as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991(b), and of all other enabling powers hereby make the following Order:-

 

1. This Order may be cited as the London Borough of Newham (Romford Road E15 (Bus Lane) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2008.

 

2. The bus lane restrictions shall be temporarily suspended in Romford Road E15 from the junction with Tavistock Road to Vicarage Lane, E15 (westbound) at such times as appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994(c).

3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

 

4. Without prejudice to the validity of anything done or to any liability incurred in respect of any act or omission before the coming into force of this Notice, the Newham (Waiting and Loading Restriction)(Special Parking Area) Order 1994 shall apply to the roads or parts of roads mentioned in paragraph 2 above as if, for the purposes of the application of Article 5(1) of that Order to the said lengths of street, the prescribed hours were "at any time".

 

5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform or a traffic warden or to any vehicle used for emergency purposes or in connection with the works.

 

This Order shall expire on 31st October 2008.
