Volunteering for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games

Join Newham's Volunteers

Become a volunteer and help Newham prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games.
During the bidding process, Newham established a volunteering program which has helped to develop a pool of over 500 volunteers. And London is calling on the need for over 70,000 to deliver the Games so lots more help will be needed.

There are three steps to becoming a Newham Volunteer. First you will be asked to complete a registration form and return it to us. We will then contact you with details of forthcoming induction sessions, with dates you can choose from.

You will attend a two hour volunteer induction session for which you will recieve a certificate.

Finally you will be sent an exciting diary of event and activities in which you will be able to participate.

By volunteering with Newham's Volunteers you will gain:
  • free accredited training with ongoing support and skills development opportunities
  • improved prospects for further education or employment
  • free Newham's Volunteers uniform and all out-of-pocket expenses
  • involvement in exciting and prestigious events
  • teamwork opportunities and a chance to make new friends
