Work Experience and Placements

Summary of Placements

At present we provide work placements and experience for several groups of young people in Newham.
These groups are:
  • Year 10/11 students through Trident (contact your school Work-Experience Co-ordinator or Careers Adviser)
  • Looked After Children (Summer Scheme)
  • School Leavers, aged 16-17 or up to 18 if disabled (Youth Employment Scheme)
  • Disabled People (schemes are currently being developed)

For schemes other than the above we are currently developing a clear and simple process to manage the many requests we receive for placements, to ensure fairness. This process will be made available on these pages once completed, around Spring 2009.

In the meantime you could consider being a Newham Volunteer. Volunteers get involved in events such as the Mayor's Newham Show, see Newham Volunteers.
