Joshua Adejokun
- Priorities
- Fun and exciting youth activities to keep teenagers
off the streets
- Recycling bins in every school
- Stop teenage killings
Statement
I would like to become Young Mayor because I want to make a
positive change to people's lives.
We need better youth activities to keep teenagers off the
streets.
I also want recycling bins in every school to reduce Newham's
carbon footprint. This will not only allow us youths to clean up
the streets, reduce litter and leave Newham a better place but it
would also contribute to a positive image of us since we are often
and unfairly labelled negatively by adults.
Finally, I would like to address the teenage killings that have
happened in our beloved borough. This must stop!
I may be a small boy but I have a big heart and mind. I will use
this to benefit our community. Capturing the hearts and minds of
the Newham youth is my aim and I will achieve it! My mind, your
vote…. Together we can achieve anything! |

- Working together to make a better
community
Statement
I nominated myself to become the Young Mayor of Newham because I
have always wanted to make a difference in society.
I don't want people to judge me for what they see on the street,
but I want them to see what I am capable of doing!
Formally, I was a very angry youth, but I realise now that I can
be someone, be somebody! If you the youth elect me as the Young
Mayor of Newham, I will make changes but I will also be there to
listen to your concerns. Those concerns will be my priorities to
deal with.
I am honest, reliable and enthusiastic. As your leader I would
not be thinking only of myself, but thinking about the needs, hopes
and desires of all youths. I believe that we are all as one and we
should work together as a community.

- Priorities
- Target knife and gun crime
- Improve public transport for youngsters
- Improve the education system to make it easier to
achieve targets
Statement
Spark, spirit and schemes - we all have these. So why are we not
getting anywhere? Because we are being moved aside. The Young Mayor
of this year has done his best to fix this. Now, together with you,
I want to make our voices louder.
My main aim like most young people is to tackle gun and knife
crime. However, one year will just be a drop in the ocean.
Therefore, I will do my best to get the process going.
I believe that we should work together to create our vision for
the future. This is our Newham. We are like a hand; the fingers
that stand alone are not as powerful as the fist. Together we can
be the stars that we all are and can light up Newham! A vote for me
is not a vote for my voice, but a vote for our voice! Vote

Statement
I believe in Newham's youth. That's why I'd like the opportunity to

In spite of what is reported in the media, I know we don't want to
be hanging out on street corners and I know we want to be involved
in something that we love. This is why I am committed in having
affordable leisure activities for us. I believe in our intellectual

- Priorities
- Tackling gun and knife crime
- Encourage young people to recycle

Statement
I would like to be Young Mayor because I want to influence young
people. I believe that gun and knife crime is a problem because
there are not enough activities for young people in the borough.

Mayor, I could arrange activities and events to involve young
people in recycling. I believe that there is a lot of talent in
Newham. Youth centres can hold competitions for young people who
are talented in any way. These could be competitions with
certificates of achievement for all those who take part.

Adebayo Odusola
- Priorities
- More youth activities
- A reduction in gun and knife crime
- Improvement of Newham aesthetically - we want a
prettier Newham
Statement
For the last few years Newham has lacked vigour. Newham needs to
ignite a borough that is full of talent by using and improving its
countless facilities to look after its young residents.
I think that our last Young Mayor has taken big steps towards
making the youth voice louder, and I believe that I can build on
this and galvanise Newham's youth. We need to focus on giving the
young citizens of Newham activities that will entertain and occupy
them in order to prevent boredom. This will also cut crime.
Vote for me Adebayo so that we can work towards a change that we
believe in! |

activities and learn new skills
- Educate and involve teenagers in sexual health
awareness campaigns
- Build relationships between police and young people
for safer streets
Statement
I believe young people are being targeted in our society as
anti-social, disorderly and disrespectful. This is often not the
case. I feel it is the time for young people to be given the

the rest of the community and work together to achieve success in
Newham.
As Young Mayor, I would work my hardest to set realistic and
achievable aims that we as a borough can accomplish together.

- Priorities
- Positive support for young
people
- Celebrating Newham's
diversity
- Reward behaviour don't punish
it
Statement
Hello peers, I am going to be the next Young Mayor of Newham
because Newham needs a positivist, and I am it!
Negative rules will not make Newham a better place for the
youths. Instead of £100 fines for those that drop litter I would
put forward prizes for the cleanest school. Positive support for
the youths is what Newham needs and that is what I stand for!
Newham is a diverse community, but we need and want a Newham
that supports and educates its members about the diversities of
different cultural and religious backgrounds. We should celebrate
our borough's diverse nature!
I feel that I can make a difference for the young people of
Newham. What the youths of Newham need is a leader that can be an
inspiration and thought, I am your inspiration, I am your
thought. Please…. Vote for me Paige
