Ashbah Nasim

Fourteen years in Newham might not be enough to become the Young Mayor. Never judge a book by its cover. My name is Ashbah Nasim and I'm 14 years of age. I might be young but I have the sheer determination and enthusiasm to become the voice for 25,000 young residents. I am very dedicated and passionate.

My three aims that I will accomplish if elected as Young Mayor are:

• To make sure that everyone especially young residents are playing a role towards the Olympic and Paralympics, promoting Newham to take the lead in the 2012 Games.
• To help reduce gang violence amongst the gang culture.
• Also to offer more investments to existing sports facilities as well as new sports clubs.

With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, it's a great opportunity for us to get involved in sports. We should grab this opportunity with both hands and make the Olympics the most memorable event in the history of Newham. People of Newham I have laid down my ideas and beliefs.

In my vision I can see me and you working together to make Newham a better place. I have a burning desire to make changes and changes will occur. You are the backbone of the transformations and improvements of the Borough of Newham. I am your voice! I am the girl of my words!
