The division between race, age,
gender and sexuality has gone too far in Newham. Labels,
stereotypes and the fear of being different often keep us from
expressing our thoughts, our ideas and ourselves.
As a leader I would be the ideal influence Newham needs to
encourage young people to step up, get involved and gain new skills
& experiences.
Seeing as the majority of young people are afraid to walk home
alone at night, I want to encourage street safety. In addition, I
think that neighbourhood meetings with the Police should include a
youth advocate; so that there is youth representation and they can
give their opinion.
The eyes of the world will be on Newham next year due to the
Olympics and I would be honoured to represent you as Newham's Young
Mayor during this monumental time.
As a committed person, I have the confidence to make Newham safer
and more prosperous. I cannot achieve this alone. I need you to
vote for me.
