My City Too Youth Ambassador

Get involved in decision-making processes aimed at improving London.

The role and responsibilities of Newham's My City Too Youth Ambassadors are to;

  • Have a strong interest in improving London spaces for young people and their communities.
  • Represent the interests of Newham's young people in relation to spaces (e.g. parks, playgrounds, shopping areas, transport hubs).
  • Represent the views and interests of all young people in their borough regardless of ethnicity religion, gender, class or sexuality.
  • Carry out My City Too surveys with young people from their borough around specific issues relating to spaces.
  • Attend regular forums with other Ambassadors from Newham to help steer the My City Too programme and discover and 'outstanding place' in London every month.
  • Assist with My City Too events, helping to run and facilitate workshops in partnership with adults and young people from across London



Youth Council representatives to the Newham Community and Police Forum (NCPF)

The Purpose of the NCPF is to provide a Forum for effective consultation between the community and the police.

The NCPF comprises a mixture of residents, business representatives, community representatives and elected Councillors, with senior police officers attending the meeting. Representatives from each of the nine Active Community Teams and Safer Neighbourhood Panels attend - and they are responsible for bringing policing issues to the NCPF.

The role of Youth Council representatives to the Newham Community and Police Forum is to;

  • Seek collective views of the Youth Council
  • Represent the Youth Council's views at the NCPF
  • Report back to the Youth Council
  • Assist the NCPF in meeting its objectives to hold police to account for their activities in Newham
  • Assist where possible with organising events during the year
