Volunteering
opportunities
There are lots of volunteering
opportunities that you can take part in that can real make a
difference in helping others and improving your
neighbourhood.
Volunteering is a chance to make something you care
about better through your actions. You can be part of the
solution.
To find out how you can become a volunteer,
visit our How to become a Newham Volunteer page.
Short term volunteering opportunities
Volunteer at some of Newham's most high profile events,
including Under the Stars, the Mayors' Newham Show, Virgin London
Marathon, Newham London Run.
You can take part in as few or as many as you like, and learn new
skills in stewarding, marshalling, first aid and team
leading.
Events are a great way to meet new people, and whether you choose
to be a part of the excitement of a large-scale music event or the
close comfort of local community fun-day, you'll be sure to find
the experience extremely rewarding.

Long term volunteering opportunities
We have a wide range of options for those wishing to volunteer over
a long period of time; within libraries, youth offending teams,
sports clubs, environmental groups and even Adult Social
Services.
Most of these opportunities require training, but offer real
hands-on experiences in challenging environments.
All of our positions are about adding-value to services and
therefore offer meaningful and challenging opportunities for our
volunteers.
