Newham in the Census -
Key Statistics
Newham obtains the census data via
a consortium purchase put together by the Greater London Authority
(GLA).
Newham does this along with all the other London
boroughs. The GLA provides a London-wide census analysis and it is
then down to each local authority to determine how to respond to
the census itself.
There are over 200 tables of data available for Newham and for each
of its wards. There are fewer tables available for the community
forums but there is a relatively detailed breakdown of the
population across a number of variables. Newham has made this
information available through the
Newham Info website.
Current census data for Newham, its wards and community forums can
be found on the Newham Info site, while census archive material is
available from Historical Census data in the
National Archives or from
A Vision of Britain Through Time.
