Exemptions
There are 23 exemptions (Absolute
and Non Absolute) from your general right of access.
These include:
- Court Records
- National Security
- Applicant's Personal Data
- Breach of Confidence
- Law Enforcement
- Health & Safety
- Information, which is published
- Information, which will be published
We have to apply the 'public interest test' to non-absolute
exemptions.
If you are unhappy with the response you receive, you must first
raise a complaint with us. If you are still unhappy following the
completion of our complaints procedure you may then complain to the
Information Commissioner, who will decide if your request was
handled properly.
Complaints could relate to any of the following:
- Failure to provide information
- Exceeding time limits
- Charging excessive fees
- Failure to advise and assist
- Failure to publish in accordance with the Publication
Scheme
