Caldicott
Principles
Caldicott is the term we use to
describe the confidentiality and security of our client information
held by our services and partners regarding service
users.
We ensure that the following six general principles of
good practice are observed:

A formal justification of purpose is required prior to sharing
information.

Identifiable information is to be transferred only when
absolutely necessary.

Information should be limited to the minimum required
only.

Access to information should be on a need-to-know basis
only.

All staff to understand their responsibilities in sharing
information.

All staff should comply with and understand the
law.
