Dangerous
Dogs
In Newham we will not tolerate any
anti-social behaviour linked to dogs. This includes: using dogs to
intimidate other people, using dogs as weapons, allowing your dog
to attack other dogs, dog fighting, baiting or encouraging your dog
to cause damage to public property (including park benches and
trees).
If a person is proven to be engaging in any of the above
activities they will face serious consequences including fines of
up to £5000 and/or six month's imprisonment.
What can I do?
If you have seen any of these activities taking place, or have any
information that may be of help, please contact the council's
animal welfare service. You can do this anonymously.
Pit Bull Terrier Type dogs

own Pit Bull Terrier Type dogs in Britain (if it is not registered
on the Index of Exempted Dogs Register). Any dog that falls into
the category of being a Pit Bull Terrier Type may be seized and the
owner prosecuted.
If you suspect that you have unwittingly acquired a Pit Bull
Terrier type dog please contact the council's
