Cold callers
The Domestic Energy Efficiency Team (DEET) has been made aware of a number of cold callers targeting Newham residents.
The callers claim to be from LB Newham and are offering services such as free insulation and painting and decorating. The callers also try to gain personal information from the resident, such as their address and financial status.
The DEET team would like to reiterate that neither they, nor their insulation partner agency London Warm Zone, make cold calls to Newham residents. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you give out personal information over the telephone.
Trading Standards and the Police have been informed of the situation and are working with DEET to try to resolve this issue.
