Apply for a
permit
Here you can find information on
how to apply for an operating permit for an industrial
activity.
Not every industrial
activity needs an operating permit. To find out if an installation
needs a permit, you need to see if the activity is listed in the
Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations
2000 (Schedule 1).
Please note: There have been numerous amendments to the
regulations, so the regulations need to be read in conjunction with
these amendments. Public Protection can advise you about the most
up to date version of Schedule 1.
Operating a prescribed activity without a permit could
lead to a £20,000 fine, so if you believe an activity is being
carried out or you wish to carry out an activity that may fall in
the PPC Regulations, you should contact Public Protection to
discuss the application process.
