The Motor Salvage Operators
Regulations 2002 were introduced as part of an effort to reduce
vehicle crime.
If your business falls within the scope of these
regulations, you will to need register with the Council, keep
records and the police will have right of entry to your business
premises without warrant. The cost of registration for a period of
three years with local authority is £63.
A motor salvage operator is a business which consists of the
recovery for re-use or sale of salvageable parts from motor
vehicles, the purchase of written-off vehicles and their subsequent
repair and re-sale.
