Restricted access to
Jenkins Lane
Newham Council and the East London
Waste Authority restricts the amount of certain types of waste that
residents can take to the Jenkins Lane RRC.
Residents are permitted to bring waste that is
associated with household renovation or large amounts of DIY to the
site for one free day of tipping.
After this, residents will only be permitted one further day of
tipping of this; restricted waste', and must first seek permission
from the council to do so.
Staff at Jenkins Lane RRC will record the details including the
registration number of the vans, and the address of the driver
carrying restricted waste.
Newham Council will then investigate the details provided and
decide whether residents will be permitted to take further loads of
restricted household waste to Jenkins Lane.
If permission is granted, residents will be given a letter of
authority from the Council that will cite the conditions for
tipping their restricted household waste and this will be subject
to time constraints. The council will not issue blanket or
unconditional tipping approval.
Those who live in the boroughs of Redbridge, Havering or Barking
& Dagenham will be asked to contact their borough council to
tip restricted waste at Jenkins Lane.
The initiative has been launched to clamp down on people who are
illegally tipping their builders or business waste at Jenkins Lane
RRC.
All residents visiting Jenkins Lane RRC are required to show a
valid driving licence or Council Tax statement as proof of
residence in Newham.
