Service Standards
We aim to provide excellent
customer service and have developed these service standards in
consultation with the public. The standards describe what we do and
the level of customer service you should expect from us.
Animal Welfare
The Animal Welfare Service aims to provide help and advice on
dangerous dogs, stray dogs, pet shops, riding establishments, dog
breeding and performing animals.

Drainage Team
Aims to respond quickly to telephone enquiries and provide
enforcement to ensure repairs are done where required.
Food Safety
The Food Safety Team aims to ensure that all food and drink which
is stored, handled, produced or distributed in Newham is safe for
consumers to eat.
Health, Safety and Licensing
The Health & Safety Team regulate employers and premises to
meet the requirements placed upon them by health and safety
legislation.
Pest Control
The Pest Control Service provides a service for the control of
rats, mice, and insects of public health significance which include
cockroaches, bedbugs, ants (but not ants in gardens), wasps (where
there are nests inside properties) and fleas.
Pollution Control
The Pollution Control Unit aims to monitor, prevent and control
environmental pollution in Newham and to promote environmental
improvement.

about illegal trading practices under trading standards law.
