ASB top priority, says council

Tackling anti-social behaviour is a top priority for Newham Council.
This is the message from Cllr Unmesh Desai, Newham Council's Executive Member for Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, who said: "We treat all anti-social behaviour very seriously.

"We have invested in 66 police officers, who work in tandem with our enforcement officers, to tackle head on anti-social behaviour. Since April 2011 we have had 421 reports of rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour across the borough and in response to those complaints we have undertaken over 190 enforcement actions ranging from Acceptable Behaviour Contracts to injunctions and evictions.

"Our attitude to crime and anti-social behaviour in Newham is simple and straightforward: we will not tolerate it in any shape or form."
