Re-opening of Beckton Globe Library

27 February 2012 in Education and Sport and leisure
Beckton Globe Library re-opens to the public on Monday, 27 February with a whole new range of services and activities available under one roof.

Improvements at the library in Kingsford Way, are part of Newham Council's drive to provide the best quality services for residents that also represent value for money.

As well as all the traditional library services on offer in bright, modern facilities, visitors are now able to use easy self-service kiosks to carry out a range of transactions. These include:

  • Paying council bills online
  • Checking rent and Council Tax balances
  • Reporting abandoned vehicles, fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, missed bin collections and much more.
  • Checking library accounts to renew books, CDs and DVDs.

These services can also be accessed from the comfort of your own home by visiting:

Executive member for customer services and housing, Councillor Andrew Baikie, said: “As well as improved library facilities at Beckton we are introducing new and better ways for our customers to do business with us, saving them time and improving the accessibility of our services.”

As a result of the improvements at the library the Local Service Centre (LSC) at Beckton Globe will no longer operate from the end of March. Residents are encouraged to ask our staff at the library for further information on any queries they may have.
