Update – Illegal Occupation on Carpenters Estate

26 September 2014 in Community safety and Council and democracy and Housing
Newham Council today applied for an Interim Possession Order for the block of four flats on the Carpenters Estate which is currently subject to an illegal occupation.
The judge adjourned the case so that those illegally occupying the property could be provided with three days notice of the hearing as set out under the Civil Procedure Rules 1998.

The Interim Possession Order hearing has therefore been rescheduled for 10am on Thursday 2 October.

Newham Council will seek to take back possession of the flats to make them available as homes on a short term basis before the whole estate is redeveloped.
