Industrial parking permits

This permit allows you to park your vehicle in any 'shared use’ bay. This is a bay where both IPZ permit holders and motorists who pay to park using the cashless (pay by phone) system can park.

You can only apply for an industr
ial parking permit in the industrial parking zone that you work at.​

Apply for an industrial parking permit

You must apply online for an industrial parking permit through My Newham.

Before you start

Make sure:
  • ​you have set up a My Newham account
  • the address where you will be using the permit is your current work address 
  • you have the right documents
  • ​you have your payment card ready (Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Maestro or Visa Electron) 

Apply online 

If your application is successful, it can take up to 10 working days for the permit to get to you by post. 

The confirmation email you will receive does not allow you to park your vehicle in an industrial parking zone during the displayed hours of restriction. You will need to wait until you receive your permit and correctly display it in your vehicle. Failure to do so may result in a penalty charge notice being issued.
 
 
 

Cost of an industrial parking permit 

We issue industrial parking permits for up to one year and the charges are:

Documents you will need to apply for a full permit

You will need:
  • a letter from your employer on headed paper dated within the last three months that confirms your name and vehicle registration.

Renew an industrial parking permit

It is your responsibility to renew your permit. 

You can renew your permit up to six weeks before its expiry date. However you must allow a minimum of 10 working days for your permit to be processed, posted and arrive at your address.

If you make a late renewal, make sure you park legally until you receive your renewed permit.

If your details are the same

If you are an existing permit holder and your address and vehicle details are the same, email a copy of the letter from your employer on headed paper dated within the last three months that confirms your name and vehicle registration to parkingpermits@newham.gov.uk​

If your permit has expired you must apply for a new permit online. 

If your details have changed

If your permit has not expired, you will need to go to the East Ham Customer Service Centre to apply for a new permit. Make sure you take the right documents with you. You will need to pay a £5 charge for the new permit.

If your permit has expired you must apply for a new permit online.  


 
 

Change of circumstances

If you have a permit, you must tell us if you change your vehicle or address.
 
You must also tell us if you no longer need your permit.
  
 
 

Parking with an industrial parking permit

This permit allows you to park your vehicle in a shared use bay. This is a bay where permit holders and motorists who use the cashless payment system (pay by phone) can park.

Industrial Permits are only valid in the industrial parking zone (IPZ) of issue. You can only apply for an industrial permit in the IPZ that you work within.

You can apply for a business permit which are valid in any IPZ and in any Newham Residential Parking Zone if you need to use your vehicle for business purposes.
