Connaught Bridge Closure from Monday 1 October for 3 week The Connaught Bridge by London City Airport has closed to vehicle traffic from today for the next three weeks. This is to allow maintenance work to the bridge. The pedestrian walkway beneath the road bridge remains open. While refurbishment work goes on traffic is being diverted via Gallions Roundabout, Woolwich Manor Way, Albert Road, and Connaught Road. Please allow extra time for any journeys in the area.​

I have a voice - learning disabilities event and art exhibition

As part of Learning Disabilities Week (18-24 June), we are hosting an event and art exhibition to celebrate the talents of people with learning disabilities.


Join us for a free night of singing, poetry, drama and dance performances to celebrate the talents of people with learning disabilities. The event programme is as follows:​

Monday 25 June, 4.30-8pm

Stratford Circus Arts Centre,
Theatre Square,
Stratford E15 1BX​
  • 4.30-6pm - light dinner and exhibition launch
  • 6-7.30pm - main show - I have a voice
  • 7.30-8pm - socialising and dancing.


Art exhibition

The art exhibition will then be on show at various venues across the borough on the below dates:

Monday 2 - Sunday 29 July
Stratford Circus Arts Centre

Monday 30 July - Sunday 2 September
Stratford Library


Exhibition entry guide

To enter, drop off your artwork at any of the below libraries on Tuesday 19 or Wednesday 20 June:
  • East Ham Customer Service Centre and Library, 328 Barking Road E6 2RT
  • Canning Town Community Neighbourhood Centre and Library, 18 Rathbone Market, Barking Road E16 IEH
  • Beckton Library, 1 Kingsford Way E6 5JQ
  • Stratford Library, 3 The Grove E15 1EL
  • Forest Gate Community Neighbourhood Centre, 2-6 Woodgrange Road E7 0QH.
Maximum size of artwork is A1 (59cm x 84cm) and must be able to hang on a wall.

Artist name and a telephone number must be on the back of the artwork or it will not be accepted.

Artwork must be collected from the Old Town Hall, Stratford, E15 4BQ on Monday 1 October.
