Summer in Newham

Each year thousands of residents enjoy Newham Council’s free summer events programme.

Newham’s biggest free summer event, the Mayor's Newham Show, returns to Central Park, East Ham, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July. This year’s event, which features an even bigger children’s stage, is set to be the best so far.

Save the date and join us for the opportunity to meet people from all over Newham, build stronger communities and enjoy a free day out with family and friends.

In 2016, some 50,000 residents came to the Mayor’s Newham Show, and more than 2,000 residents including 500 children and young people took part in the Mayor’s Newham Carnival, with thousands more lining the streets to watch. Last year’s four-night music extravaganza Under the Stars was attended by 50,000 people and was headlined by acts such as Junior Marvin's Wailers, Jaz Dhami, Björn Again, Alexander O'Neal and the fabulous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
