Newham City Farm

Newham City Farm

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the farm is still closed and we will provide an update when we are able to open again.

One of London’s longest established city farms, Newham City Farm provides the local community with free access to animals in a countryside oasis which offers a unique learning experience. It is suitable for all ages but especially children, who love meeting our rare breeds and learning about all kinds of farm animal.

About the farm

We’ve been open since 1977 and are home to a large number of farmyard favourites such as cows, horses and sheep - alongside some less familiar animals such as alpacas, birds of prey and turkeys. There are also many smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets on the farm.

Newham City Farm is a popular school trip choice, and we have a range of activities going on throughout the year, which you can find out about on these pages.

Our Care Farming therapeutic programme provides support using animal care and gardening to benefit adults with a variety of learning needs, health conditions, and disabilities.

There is a lot to see at the farm. Alongside our animals there is a children’s play area, spaces available for children's birthday party hire, wildlife area, orchard and bird hide, and goat milking demonstrations (seasonal/afternoons).

In the holidays we usually run family meet-and-greet sessions with staff to get closer to the animals and to ask any questions.

The Farm cafe is usually open from 11am to 3pm but contact the farm via our bookings information if making a special trip.
