Coronavirus updates for recycling, waste and bin collections

Rubbish bin collections

If you or a member of your household is self-isolating at home, follow the stay at home guidance.

To dispose of any face coverings or PPE you or members of your household use when self- isolating, you should:

  • Double bag them
  • Store them for 72 hours before putting them in the rubbish.

Do not put them in a recycling bin.

Bulky waste items

Collections are suspended due to staff shortages because of COVID 19. If you cannot safely store this waste at home then you can take it to the Jenkins Lane Re-use and Recycling Centre.

Deliveries are still taking place but there may be some delays.

Delivery of domestic bins and recycling bins

Deliveries are suspended due to staff shortages because of COVID 19. Please present rubbish in black bags and / or recycling in a clear bag or cardboard box if you do not have a bin. Any sharp objects – like broken glass - should be wrapped up, for example in newspaper, and placed in the rubbish.
