The Newham Children’s Trust is the joint commitment between local organisations, families and young people in working towards a shared goal – ensuring that Newham children and young people have a positive childhood that prepares them for adult life.
Responsibilities
The Newham Children’s Trust is responsible for:
- Using data and intelligence about Newham's children and young people to develop the Children and Young People's Plan (PDF). This includes the voice and opinions of children, young people and their families
- Keeping up to date about what other local organisations are delivering with regard to children and young people, and identifying areas of priority that have no clear lead
- Agreeing governance procedures and project plans, reviewing progress, troubleshooting and reviewing impact of work that is carried out in relation to those priorities
- Making key decisions that have spending, structural or commissioning implications for the member organisations
- Reviewing changes in wider policy and legislation from government to ensure that we are making the most of new opportunities.
