Industrial parking permit
If you work in an industrial parking zone (IPZ), you may be eligible for an industrial parking permit. An industrial parking permit can be used in any shared use bay. This is a bay where both IPZ permit holders and motorists who pay to park using the cashless (PayByPhone) system can park.

- You have set up a My Newham account
- The address where you will be using the permit is your current work address
- You have your payment card ready (Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Maestro or Visa Electron)

- You have a letter from your employer on headed paper dated within the last three months that confirms your name and vehicle registration.

Apply for an industrial parking permit
If you have read the above checklist, you are now ready to apply:
Apply for a 6 month industrial parking permit
Apply for a 3 month industrial parking permit
When you can expect to receive your permit
If your application is successful, it can take up to 10 working days for the permit to get to you by post.
Please do note that an industrial parking permit is only valid when it is displayed clearly in the vehicle. A confirmation email regarding your application does not allow you to park in a controlled parking area. Any vehicle parked in a controlled parking area without a valid permit clearly displayed may receive a penalty charge notice.
Renew an industrial parking permit
You can renew your permit up to four weeks before its expiry date. However, please do allow a minimum of 10 working days for your permit to be processed, posted and arrive at your address.
If you make a late renewal, make sure you park legally until you receive your renewed permit.
If your details are the same
If you are an existing permit holder and your address and vehicle details are the same, email a copy of the letter from your employer on headed paper dated within the last three months that confirms your name and vehicle registration to [email protected]
Once we process your renewal we will contact you for payment and your permit will be sent out by post to your address.
You can also visit East Ham Customer Service Centre and renew your permit by providing an up to date letter from your employer and make payment.
If your permit has expired you must apply for a new permit online.
If your details have changed
If your permit has not expired, you will need to go to the East Ham Customer Service Centre to apply for a new permit. Make sure you take the right documents with you. You will need to pay a £5 charge for the new permit.
