In May 2021 you will be able to vote for the Mayor and Member of the London Assembly – candidates will be announced closer to the time.
Key deadlines
- Deadline for receiving applications for registration to vote – Monday 19 April
- Deadline for new postal vote applications and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes – 5pm, Tuesday 20 April 2021
- Deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy – 5pm, Tuesday 27 April 2021
- Polling Day – 7am – 10pm, Thursday 6 May 2021

You will be given three ballot papers: pink, yellow and orange.
Voting for the Mayor - pink ballot paper
You have 2 choices for Mayor.
Mark [X] your first choice in Column A.
Mark [X] a different second choice in Column B.
You must make a first choice or your vote won’t be counted.
Each vote must be for a different candidate.

Voting for your Constituency London Assembly Member - yellow ballot paper
Choose who you want to represent your local area on the London Assembly.
Vote for only one candidate.
Mark [X] next to your choice.
Your London Assembly constituency is not the same as your parliamentary constituency. There are 14 constituencies in London, each made up of two or more boroughs each see a map of the London Assembly constituencies (external link).

Choose who you want to represent the whole of London on the London Assembly.
Vote only once.
Mark [X] next to your choice.

Nomination packs
Constituency Assembly Member candidates
Nominations for the City and East Constituency Assembly Member contest are managed by the City and East Constituency Returning Officer.
If you would like to stand as a London Assembly candidate in the City and East constituency, please contact Newham Electoral Services to request a nomination pack. The deadline to submit a completed nomination form is 4pm, Tuesday 30th April 2021.
London Mayor and London-wide Assembly Member candidates
If you want to stand as a Mayoral candidate or London-wide Assembly Member candidate, you should contact the Greater London Returning Officer at London Elects.
