Electric vehicle charging points

Cleaner air is a key priority for Newham Council, particularly as air pollution affects our residents’ health.

By 2030, the council wants to deliver over 3,000 electric vehicle charging points in Newham to help improve air quality and to meet central Government’s target of phasing out the sale of new petrol or diesel motor vehicles.

We aim to install electric vehicle charging points (EVCP) at locations across the borough so that all residents have access to one within walking distance.

Increasing the number of electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) will make owning an electric vehicle a more practical and accessible alternative to a petrol or diesel motor vehicle.

To find the location and speed of existing charging points in the borough visit Zap Map and type in ‘Newham’ in the map search bar.
