Fees for a street trading licence
As of the 1st April 2026 the charge for an application is £110.
Should your application be granted, a weekly fee for the licence is payable in advance for the duration of the licence:
- Local Traders (small traders based in Newham) - £40 per week
- National Traders - £60.50 per week
For instance; a Local Trader and want to set up a stall, for example, the total cost of a licence for four weeks would be £110 + (£40 x 4) = £270.00
The cost of a licence for six months (26 weeks) local trader would be £110 + (£40 x 26) = £1150.00
If you are a National Trader, a four week licence would be £110 + (£60.50 x 4) = £352.00 and a six month licence (26 weeks) would be £110 + (£60.50 x 26) = £1683.00
Alternatively, should you want to distribute advertising literature, there is a charge for every (2) two distributors in the same street. So if you have (3) three or (4) four distributors in the same street the charge will be will be:
- £25 x 2 = £50 for Local Traders

£60.50 x 2 = £121 for National Traders
When you apply, you only need to pay the £110 application fee, should your licence be granted, we will request you to pay the full balance before the licence is issued and sent to you.
Temporary licences cannot be issued for a duration of more than 6 months (26 weeks).
