My Newham is changing in January 2022
My Newham is the council’s online portal, where users can carry out lots of important transactions, such as:
- viewing and making payments on your Council Tax account
- reporting environmental health or waste issues
- reporting a missed bin collection or requesting a bulky waste collection
What is changing
In January, we will be upgrading the My Newham portal. This upgrade will provide a more intuitive system and will make it easier for you to carry out important tasks with the Council.
The new look portal will provide:
Are you a My Newham account holder?
This upgrade will affect all current My Newham account holders. If you currently hold a My Newham account, please read the following to see how this change affects you.
- If you have not logged into your My Newham account since 8 November 2020
Emails have been issued to My Newham account holders requesting they log into their account if they have not done so since 8 November 2020.
If you have received this email and have not logged into your account, unfortunately, you will no longer have access to your current My Newham account and will need to re-register on the new portal to use our online services.
- If you have logged into your My Newham account since 8 November 2020
If you have logged into your My Newham account since 8 November 2020, your account profile will be transferred to the new portal. When you log into the portal for the first time, you will need to verify your email address and re-set your account password. An email will be issued with instructions on how to re-set your password closer to the time.
- Viewing your historic online requests after this change
When the new portal goes live it will not display online requests previously raised with the council (for example requesting a bulky waste collection or reporting fly-tipping), however, our service teams will ensure that any outstanding requests are completed.
Please make a note of all enquiry reference numbers for any outstanding requests or transactions you may have (just in case you need to contact us for an update) – you can do that by logging in to ‘My Account’ link located at the top of this webpage.
Property Licence renewals and Online Housing Register change of circumstances applications will be available to all to complete on the new portal.
What happens next
Account holders whose accounts will remain active when the new portal goes live, will receive an email in January to confirm the steps they need to take to activate their account on the new portal.
If you no longer require the use of your My Newham account, there is no further action to take. Your account will automatically be deactivated once the new portal goes live.
We will be providing regular updates about this change on our website, but if you need to contact us about this change please visit the contact us page.
