Hostile

As part of our Windrush 75 programme, Newham is screening award-winning documentary Hostile. Written, produced, and directed by local film maker, Sonita Gale, the film focuses on focusing on the UK's complicated relationship with its migrant communities and explores how the lives of international students, members of the Windrush generation and 'Highly Skilled Migrants' have been affected by the evolving 'hostile environment' policies. It features music from award-winning musicians Nitin Sawhney and spoken word from George the Poet.

The screening will include a Q&A with Sonita, and Priscilla Igwe of the New Black Film Collective.
