Latin America Day in Newham.
Please join us for Newham Latin America Day on 12 October, along with Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz and Deputy Mayor & Lead Member for Community Neighbourhoods, Cllr Charlene Mclean, together with people from Newham’s Latin American community.
It is estimated that around 10,000 people of Latin American origin live in east London, with many of those living here in Newham’s richly diverse borough. Last October, the council carried a motion to recognise the Latin American community in Newham. The evening will celebrate the contribution of our Latin American community to our borough and all of the cultures of Latin America, including indigenous American culture.
The event will be held at Old Town Hall Stratford and will include music from an Andean pipe band and refreshments from the continent.
