Newham Health and Wellbeing Board answers questions on Covid-19

The Mayor and Newham Health and Wellbeing Board's meeting tonight will be broadcast on Facebook.

Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz and GP Dr Muhammed Naqvi, chair of Newham Clinical Commissioning Group, will be answering questions from residents on Wednesday evening about the impact of Covid-19 on the health and wellbeing of the borough.

They will be joined by colleagues from Newham Health and Wellbeing Board whose meeting will be broadcast at 6pm on Newham’s Facebook live site, including responding to some of the queries people have submitted about how Newham Council, NHS partners and others, are adapting to the current pandemic.

The Board is made up of different organisations who work in partnership to improve the health of people in Newham. It is jointly chaired by Mayor Fiaz and Dr Naqvi, and includes councillors, Council officers representing adults and health and children’s services, Public Health, NHS Newham Clinical Commissioning Group, Newham University Hospital (part of Barts Health NHS Trust), East London NHS Foundation Trust and HealthWatch Newham, who provide a voice for residents.

The meeting will be reflecting on the first stage of the Covid-19 pandemic and plans for dealing with the next stage. Healthwatch Newham will be presenting results from an online survey of residents. There will also be a discussion arising from some of the questions submitted by the public to health experts.

The time period for submitting questions for consideration at the meeting has now closed. Residents can view the meeting at https://www.facebook.com/newhamcouncil/
