Newham Council would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to locals who took on the message of this year’s Great British Spring Clean: join the #BigBagChallenge and pledge to pick up as much litter as you can.
Local residents rose to the campaign challenge in droves, with over 600 volunteers across the borough contributing to the Council's pledge to pick a massive 530 bags, to go towards the national tally of 449,406 bags.
We staged 29 events across the borough. So well done and thank you to residents, schools, businesses, faith groups, community neighbourhoods and council staff that got involved in this year's Great British Spring Clean, in its 7th year.
Every bag of litter removed makes a huge difference - to the environment and to local communities.
