Newham Council will deliver a new pedestrian and cycle link between Sidings Street and Montfichet Road (formerly called Pool Loop Link).
Currently, pedestrians and cyclists are using the path under the Montfichet Road Bridge, which is an indirect link.
During major events at London Stadium, some people have been climbing over the bridge fencing between Sidings Street and Montfichet Road, which is dangerous and unsafe.
A metal fence has been installed to prevent illegal crossing at this location.
The new access point will be designed so that safe crowd management can be achieved during major events.
The scheme is being fully funded by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC).
We are preparing to undertake the works from late June to late August.
