High Needs Provision Capital Allocation

In March 2022, the DfE announced the allocation of High Needs Provision Capital Allocation (HNPCA) grants for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 financial years.

As part of the assurance arrangements for this grant, DfE requested that each local authority: 'complete and return a short grant assurance data return at an appropriate interval, to provide details on the projects they intend to fund using HNPCA.

In line with DfE requirements, the original template form returned on the 1st October 2022 and the updated form returned on the 7 November 2023 showing the projects being delivered under this funding can be downloaded below. 

The Department for Education (DfE) has allocated Newham £3,803,265 Special Provision Capital Funding over three financial years (2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21) towards investment in improving the quality and range of provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities through:

  • Creating new (additional) places at good or outstanding provision
  • Improving facilities or developing new facilities.

Following consultation with interested parties and a key decision, Newham identified projects that will be delivered under this funding.
